ESE served as the environmental engineer and Brownfields manager for the reclamation of the former 107 year old Imperial Sugar Company refinery located in Sugar Land, Texas for the purpose of redeveloping the 165 acre site as a mixed-use town center style development, which will include residential, commercial retail and office space.
ESE’s objectives for the project included engineering and management of facility ACM abatement and demolition, closure of waste management units, soil and groundwater assessment/remediation and Site regulatory closure.
ESE was contracted by Cherokee-Sugar Land, a joint venture between Cherokee Investment Partners and Johnson Development Company, to provide Environmental Engineering services for the redevelopment of the historic sugar mill, refinery and power plant. ESE‘s scope of work included the following:
