When Do You Need An Asbestos Survey?
Building owners are required to know if Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) are present and to manage the items appropriately. U.S. EPA and Texas Asbestos Health Protection Rules (TAHPR) require an asbestos survey before any renovation or demolition activity. Texas state law requires municipalities to require proof of an asbestos inspection before a permit is issued. A survey must be completed regardless of date of construction unless an engineer or architect issues a written statement that no asbestos products were used during construction.
